Then and Now ...

You might be thinking... "It's just that ole computer talking stuff, not a real phone." Well, fact is, a few years ago that was true. All you could do was talk to somebody through a computer only if they had the same service you did. It was a hassle, and on a good day the clarity was bad. Today it's far, far different. What if I need 911 ...

They have 911 covered too! It works a little different than the traditional phone services, but it does work and works well. So, if you need to call the Fire Department to get that cat out of the tree ... again, just pick up your real VoIP phone and dial 911.

what if I'm gone for a few days ...

Just take it with you and if your staying in a place that has High Speed Internet available (many hotel chains have this for free), hook it up. It will work just like at home.

I need more than one number ...

OK, not a problem! Most all of the VoIP Services offer an additional number for a very small monthly fee. You can also get that second number for family and friends that live in an area that is normally long distance, even forein countries. You just get a number in their area code and they can call you for free. yep, you can even run a fax machine.

What about Service ...

What do you need ...

A High Speed Internet Connection (Cable or DSL) ...

You'll have to purchase this from an Internet Service Provider. But, if you slready have a computer that is connected to the internet with, you may already have the High Speed Internet Service or you can easily upgrade to it.
... and the best part is that even if you don't have a computer you can still get VoIP and save tons of cash. All you need is the connection, and with the money you will save you could get that long awaited computer you have been dreaming of.

A Phone ...

You don't have to buy a special phone. Just any old phone will do. It can be cordless or corded ... you know, the ones with the twisty cord going form the handset tothe phone that always get tangled up.

VoIP Service ...

There are several VoIP companies to choose from and most send the equipmetn to connect you phone up for Free. Most offer an unlimited long distance package for under $25.00 (US) per month, and beleive me it's really unlimited. Some even have it so you can choose to pay for the whole year for under $200.00 (US) and save even more. Man, some of 'em even work with cell phones now that will ring your cell phone when your home phone rings ... WOW!
... oh, oh, most of the VoIP companies offer the first month of service Free, some even offer three months Free. How could you go wrong?

... so, the benefits of VoIP really are great today. It looks as if they are only going to get better as time goes on. If you've been getting tired of the High Fluctuating phone bills, lack of service except during "Normal Business Hours" and being stuck to a calling plan taht does not fit you or your family's needs, then it's worth checking into and may very well prove to fit you perfectly.
